Last Saturday i went to watch Death Note with my gf. At first i was skeptical about the movie, i mean come on, write a person’s name into the Death Note and the person will die, how good can it be?

Before we went for the movie i check out YouTube and found alot episodes of Death Note anime. I watched the first episode out of curiosity and since then never stop watching. The story line is full of suspense, twist and intelligent plot! I was so excited and looking forward to watch the movie.

In the beginning of the show i thought the movie is totally different from the anime or manga because the way Light aka Kira found the Death Note is different. But later on the story starts to pick up and a lot of scene are directly derived from the anime so most of the story is predictable. One thing i find it really annoying is those big mouth in the cinema. Yes i know you’ve read the manga or watched the anime but you don’t have to tell out every details right? Other people paid to watch the movie not to listen to you narrating the movie.

I’m not sure if you watched Iron Chef, but i was so freaking surprised when the host of Iron Chef is acting as Light’s dad(The Chief).

As for the God of Death Ryuk the Shinigami, don’t you think he is cute? Everytime his appearance brings so much laughter to the audience(Especially his apple addiction). Personally i think Ryuk like the girl on the TV. If not he won’t drop the second Death Note to her.

Before watching the movie i have doubt that the director can stuff the whole story into a single episode, guess i was right, the ending is just the beginning of a highly anticipated battle between L vs Kira. I just heard from my friend that Death Note 2 is already showing in Japan cinema and coming soon to Taiwan and other countries. If you ask me movie or anime nicer? I would definitely say anime. A lot of details are cut short in the movie and it is less suspenseful. But i would suggest not to watch the anime prior the movie, this way you’ll enjoy the movie even more.
