Taylor Hicks Wins American Idol 5

SOUL PATROL!!! Its no surprise that America has voted Taylor Hicks as their fifth American Idol.
When Taylor Hicks sings his 3rd song Do I Make You Proud, I’ve already know who is the American Idol for 2006. I was so surprised that Simon Cowell have the same vision as i do when he told Taylor that “Assuming that I was right and the show was tied, then you have just won American Idol”
Katharine McPhee started off the show with an utterly boring song Black Horse and the Cherry Tree. Its kinda boring because she repeated that song again on finale and the lyrics keep on repeating the sentence “No no no…you’re not the one for me”, i have a bad feeling that the song might hurt her vote. Then comes Taylor Hicks with his first song Living for the City by Stevie Wonder that totally slaughtered(as quoted by Simon) Katharine McPhee on the first round. I have to admit that Taylor is good when it comes down to fast song and weird dancing moves.
On the second round, Katharine gave me goosebumps again with her rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Eventhought that song is repeated but it totally nailed Taylor Hicks who sang Elton John’s Levon. I told you he is only good with fast songs.
Each of them score a round and that is the reason why Simon said they are tied but im so sorry to say that Katharine McPhee lose to Taylor Hicks because of her 3rd song My Destiny. Come on, At least im not the only guy who said that. Randy Jackson commented:”There are 3 things i wanted to say, you look beautiful, your singing is great, the song is awful” and Simon commented:”I would say to everyone who wants to vote for Kat, vote and remember the second song”. See? I told you. Katharine McPhee fans out there. Blame the lame song!
Talking about the song, Taylor Hicks Do I Make You Proud is easy to remember, leave a big impact with a nice tune. As for Katharine McPhee My Destiny, i can’t even remember what the song is about and the tune is ugly.
There you go, now you know why Taylor Hicks grabbed the title of American Idol 5. A big congratulations to you!

I don’t see why you don’t like the My Destiny song by Kathrine McPhee I think it was a beautiful song and she has a beautiful voice I already bought her cd. Taylor Hicks however I strongly dislike he annoys me really bad I mean his voice I don’t like and he does this stupid looking dances I will never buy his cd and I think whoever voted for him has issues and needs to go somewhere. Cause Kathrine McPhee has the looks and the voice of Hollywood. And should have been America’s fifth american idol.

I totally agree with you Sally! I love the song “My Destiny” that Katherine McPhee sang. It has great lyrics and a beautiful tune. I was so upset that Taylor got voted for this year’s American Idol. I read about him in People magazine and he has a sweet personality, but I think he’s not a wonderful singer.
