Austin Stevens the so call “Snakemaster” from Animal Planet got a little too close to the cobra and it managed to get a good bite.
He thought he is as fast as mongoose but he is just being dumb.

@ Steve,Well lemme contribute a little more to this topic, I dont need to do my own tv shows and i dont need to be jealous of what Austin Steven does I have a passion and thats what I do, I rescue these magnificent creatures for a reason and for your info I’ve handled Cobras as big as what Austin Stevens has or will ever handle in his whole lifetime. I would like to ask Austin Stevens how many times has he in his entire life handled a King Cobra? I’ve watched that show where he made his way to India looking for a King Cobra what did he do just tap him on the back of his hood for a TV show? I have nothing against Austin Stevens, I enjoy his shows but we all have our talents. I dont need to be Better than someone who is successful, like I said I have a passion and thats what gets me there already. Austin Stevens would know me if he does know Romulus Whitaker whos the Godfather of all Herpetologists and thats a man I salute. PEACE!!!

I think Austin should be applauded for his couragious efforts for the TV. He may be a little excentric but he is always out to give the audience an informative view of snakes and other creepy animals. Just like Steve, showed us how cute a croc can be - I now have total respect for snakes and if faced with one (which is an often occurance in the bush of Australia where I live) I would not fear it but just let it be - and see that the snake goes on it’s way. Thanks Austin - I love your shows - very entertaining!

i think it was set up in a stage cuzz he was so calm not even a drop of sweat and he had 2 cams filming him infront and back and the tunnel was only jst big enpough for him how would a camera crew fit in ther and when he came out he had no camera nothing on him so its a bit weird

Austin is awesome and he is a master. Yo Shawn! You wish you had half the skill he does. I bet you have handled 400 venomus snakes you found in your back yard. Even if you are a snake wrangler, I KNOW you havent handled a cobra the size of the ones austin handles. You are obviously jealous. If you knew what he new maybe you could make your own tv show, wait no one cares. You shouldnt act like you are better than people who are more SUCCESFUL than you!!

No. Austin Stevens is awesome and the only reason anyone gave 2 craps about Steve Irwin was because he did all these crazy stuff. Also, Irwin died doing something that’s normally completely safe. It just went horribly wrong.
Also, Austin Stevens was fine. Some anti-venom and he was out the next day.

Well I’ve watched every bit of Close up on how the Cobra got a good bite at Austin! What was he thinking??? I’m a Herpetologist & Snake Wrangler myself besides have handled Cobras as close to 400 times in my entire career as a Snake Wrangler. One thing I’ve noticed is that Austin doesn’t relate to this manner in knowing the exact behaviour of this Snake & other species as I’ve watched in most of his Brave,Show off Episodes on Animal Planet! Except it, he gets paid for what he does & so takes his chances with Deadly Venomous Species as this. I’ve handled so many species of snakes for the past 11 years of my career & never even once been bitten by a Venomous Species besides have been bitten by non-venomous species several times on differen occasions. Austin needs to focus & learn more on these animals & their Behaviour!!!

If there is anything Austin Stevens haven’t learnt from the life and death of Steve Irwin, it is about treasuring one’s life by not performing dangerous stunts for the camera and for stardom. Because these are NOT worth dying for, and the family and the loved ones are worth much more than these stupid, “heroic” stunts for the sake of fame and stardom. Or, he can follow the footsteps of Steve Irwin, to his grave.
