At last Mobile Money is available in Malaysia, few months ago i’ve heard my manager talking about it and told me that it is a new payment method which utilize the mobile technology. Recently you will see alot of Mobile Money ads in the newspaper, following are some sneak intro in the ads:
Do you know, soon you can pay for your son’s shopping while you go golfing?
Do you know, soon you can pay for your bills / subscriptions while watching TV?
Do you know, soon you can pay your installments / insurance premium from holiday resort?
Do you know, soon you can pay your car workshop while in the office?
Do you know, soon you can buy & pay for your flowers / tickets while stuck in the traffic jam?
Basically you already know what you can do with Mobile Money, convinience of payment via your mobile phone. Currently it is only available for BCB and Hong Leong Bank customer. For more information on Mobile Money i tried to search in Google for “Mobile Money” but the search result doesn’t show the correct url that given in newspaper which is http://www.mobile-money.com because it is a new site. Therefore i will give them a link in my blog so that they could rank higher in search engine.

A big advertisement of Mobile Money has been seen at Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP) for quite some time.
The success of Mobile Money, is propotional to the response gained from merchants. If it was a readily available payment option among the merchants and stores, then definitely the usage rate will be higher. Another important factor, is the trust that consumers have for Mobile Money. Some how, the idea of mobile payment might not be convincing among the elderly, in terms of security concern. Some people still don’t even trust in online banking. The existing active Maybank2u users should be able to accept this concept and appreciate Mobile Money better

i have submitted my registration forms
- who knows it might just pick up and be famous
- after all almost everybody has a mobile phone
but the funny thing is Maybank charges RM 2,000 to include in their maybank2u.com — very expensive
- there is also a transaction fee or percentage - depends on the monthly volume

ReadyCompanies, you don’t have Maybank2u? Why they charge RM2k so expensive one?
October 12th, 2005 at 8:06 pm
so expensive just to set-up
- they will also charge for evey transaction or a minimum monthly fee of RM 100 per month
i am using CommercePayment.com - much much cheaper
the bigger the bank the more money they want to make from us
no wonder e-commerce tak boleh naik in Malaysia
maybe you should do some research on this and blog as to e-commerce is so difficult in Malaysia
