988 as the official host station is proud to bring you Global Chinese Music Awards the biggest and the most prestigious musical awards show in Chinese music industry this year.

Global Chinese Music Awards is a collaboration of 7 Chinese radio stations such as Malaysia (988), China (Beijing Music Station RM97.4, Guang Dong Radio Station, East Shanghai Station,), Hong Kong (RTHK), Taiwan (Hit FM, Chinese Radio Station) and Singapore (Yes 933).

The aim of Global Chinese Music Awards is to popularize the Chinese music industry worldwide and to acknowledge the outstanding talents and efforts of various artistes around the globe.

The inaugural award was held in September 2001 in Beijing, followed by GuangZhou in 2002, Shanghai in 2003 and Taipei in 2004. This year, 988 will be the host station for 5th Global Chinese Music Awards event and which will take place on 3 September 2005 at Stadium Putra Bukit Jalil!

Last year, the 4th Global Chinese Music Awards was held in Taiwan with the appearance of most of the famous artistes such as Jay Chou, Lee Hom, Jolin Chai, David Tao, Twins, F.I.R., Joey Yong, Fish Leong, Stephanie Sun etc. This time round, the 5th Global Chinese Music Awards will be expecting another stunning surprise to Malaysians and it will be one of the biggest musical event of the year with the most number of artistes from all in one gathering!
