WAP.com up for sale
Thursday, July 28th, 2005 at 3:49 am in InternetCuriously, the domain www.wap.com is up for sale and the vendor is looking for over $25,000 for it. Apparently the bidding is set to finish at the end of this month.
The strange thing is that it turns out that a Norwegian law enforcement agency, Domstol, which normally provides information for the Norwegian law courts somehow ended up with the domain.
One wonders whether the likes of Openwave will bid? In its former guise as Unwired Planet, the company helped to create WAP. It’s also odd that the Open Mobile Alliance – which incorporates the former WAP Forum – didn’t have the domain either.
