Bon Odori (盆踊り, meaning simply Bon dance) is an event held during Obon. It is celebrated as a reminder of the gratefulness one should feel toward one’s ancestors. I still remember i did a presentation on this subject in my English communication skill class in college and got highest score. Everyone was sitting in the class listening to me yapping about Bon Odori all the way and every student supposed to talk for 7 minutes but i forgot about the time and talk for 30 minutes!
Why am i so interested with Bon Odori? Because it is a very warm event and brings friends even closer and most importantly is that there are cute japanese girls there
. I went Bon Odori for consecutive three years so i have 3 Bon Odori fan in my room. The event definately brings back alot of sweet memories and when i read a blog in PPS today which covered the event, i felt that as if i was there because nothing has changed. The crowd, the dance, the food and most importantly the japanese girls heh.
Last year when we were there and was about to go home. We saw a bunch of cute japanese girls wearing Yukata and i wanted to take picture with them. So i approached those girls and ask if i can take picture with them. After taking the picture i say thanks to them and they walk off. But suddenly i heard them started to talk in cantonese….
Visit this blog if you want to see loads of picture which covered the Bon Odori Malaysia 2005
