Wordpress Comment Spam Blocker
Tuesday, June 21st, 2005 at 2:49 pm in WordpressLately i’ve been a target of online poker site and they would spam my comment every now and then. I thought after marking their comment as spam would stop them, but my guess was wrong. They would spam again and again until one day i saw their comment spam coming in and i delete, they post again and i delete and this goes on and on. To tell you honestly i enjoy it pretty much. ![]()
In the end i won the battle because they stop spamming already (maybe they felt tired) but the next day i see another list of comment spam in my blog. After the frustration i decided to get a Wordpress Comment Spam Blocker
After searching for a while. I found this spam blocker pretty useful. It’s called Bad Behavior. It is widely used by Wordpress user to kick spammer’s ass. The installation was easy, just unzip this folder and upload the whole folder into /wp-content/plugins and activate it in your Wordpress admin panel.
That’s it. Is that simple. Next thing you can check your phpmyadmin if you have one. You will see a new table call wp_bad_behavior_log and you’ll see alot of comment spam trapped there. So fun
It works for me and now i don’t have to waste my time deleting comment spam anymore.
Since yesterday Bad Behavior had blocked 146 comment spams.

Hey. Spam Karma 2 works wonders as well. I have not seen a trace of SPAM at all.

that i can really relate! i’m hating those superfluous spammy comments coming from medicine sites, poker/gambling sites, porn sites, etc. it’s a pain in the head moderating such comments.
good thing about wp is, you have an option to moderate these comments before posting them. and i also like the anti-spam feature wherein you gotta type a certain keyword to filter humans from spambots.
